The situative and the reactive
Giorgio Castignoli
This article’s aim is to reconsider the concept of the situative [Situativen] as it is described by the German psychiatrist and phenomenologist Hubertus Tellenbach. The category of the situative is fundamental for the understanding of the psychology of the situation, and it is here conceptualized starting from the contribution of the European classical psychopathology, i.e. Jaspers, Minkowsky, Pauleikhoff, and Lange.
The concepts of situative, situation, adjustment and reaction are here discussed. When bound in a certain axiological perspective, the limits of the situation in which the person is immerged make her unable to adjust to particular life conditions. Such dynamic spreads light on a phenomenological account of the vulnerability towards depression.
